It is believed negotiations are currently underway between King Charles and Prince Andrew to get the disgraced prince to move to another, much smaller Crown Estate property.
This comes after Andrew has become entangled in even more scandals surrounding his previous association with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
While Andrew has denied all accusations against him in these scandals, he has relinquished his use of royal titles as a result of how much of a distraction he was being for the monarchy.
However, this has not been enough to stop public criticism, with the prince now expected to leave the 30-bed Royal Lodge mansion he signed a 75-year lease for in 2003.
Although Andrew is set to receive compensation if he leaves as a result of still having 50 years on the lease and having paid £7.5million upright for renovation work, he is not expected to live as much of a luxurious life anymore. He is also set to be more lonely, with the King’s brother reportedly seeking separate royal homes for himself and his ex-wife.
As reported by The Daily Mail, Andrew is reportedly eyeing up Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s former home Frogmore Cottage. Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson is believed to be keen on making the nearby Adelaide Cottage her own when Prince William and Princess Kate move to their new home within the next few weeks.
It is believed to be unlikely that their demand for two separate homes will be permitted, especially as they are not working royals.
Neither Andrew or Sarah have commented on why they are now seeking homes away from one another, especially with Sarah having once referred to them as the “happiest divorced couple in the world”.
