Samuel L. Jackson provided what fans are calling the “perfect reaction” after coming face to face with a life-sized figure of his beloved “Star Wars” character during opening night gala of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art Saturday.

In a viral clip captured by Deadline, Jackson is seen walking through one of the museum’s sprawling galleries before stopping dead in his tracks. Jackson then does a classic double take at the Mace Windu figure, dressed in full Jedi robes, before breaking into a wide grin.

The Lucas Museum, founded by legendary filmmaker George Lucas and his wife Mellody Hobson, is dedicated entirely to the art of visual storytelling and will open its doors to the public on Tuesday in Los Angeles’ historic Exposition Park.

The couple had attempted to set up the museum in San Francisco and Chicago, but after facing legal and political hurdles in both cities, they eventually landed in Los Angeles, according to the Deadline.

The guests assembled on the museum’s rooftop at 9 p.m. for an extraordinary aerial spectacle produced by Nova Sky Stories and narrated live by Oprah Winfrey and Jackson.

The synchronized drone show, swirling above the crowd, depicted pop-culture icons like “Star Wars’” R2-D2 and Marvel’s Captain America, alongside tributes to celebrated fine art pieces including Banksy’s Girl with Balloon and the works of Frida Kahlo.

The opening night drew a powerhouse lineup of industry legends including Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, Francis Ford Coppola, Peter Jackson, Guillermo del Toro, Spike Lee, Denis Villeneuve, Ron Howard, Jon Favreau, Edgar Wright, Lee Daniels, John Landis, Jon M. Chu, Frank Miller, DB Weiss, David Benioff and Matthew Robbins.

The star-studded guest list also featured Robert De Niro, Tyler Perry, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nathan Fielder, cinematographer Caleb Deschanel, producer Frank Marshall, and French artist JR. Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry were also seen talking to Bob Iger during the event.

The Lucas Museum focuses on visual storytelling across centuries, housing over 1,300 pieces on active display across 30 galleries drawn from a total collection of around 40,000 works.
