You should stop baking salmon in the oven and start cooking it another way, according to foodies. Salmon is a popular food in Britain and it is loved for its unique flavour as well as its nutritional benefits swuch as a high concentration of protein, healthy fats and vitamins. One of the most common ways to cook salmon is by putting it into the oven to bake. But there is a way to cook it that might actually be way better.
Salmon can actually be cooked in numerous ways. While placing it into the oven might be the most common, it is only one of many ways to achieve perfectly cooked and delicious salmon that can be served with a side of homemade chips, a salad or some rice. One recipe calls for salmon to be pan fried and people who have tried this method have called it “fantastic”, saying that the salmon comes out “perfectly cooked”.
The recipe for pan-fried salmon was shared by BBC Good Food, and it only takes six minutes to make in total, with one minute of prep and five minutes of cooking.
To make this tasty pan-fried salmon, you need two fillets of salmon, a half tablespoon of olive oil, unsalted 20 grams of butter, and half a lemon. Season the salmon with salt and pepper and put the butter and olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
Add the salmon when the butter starts to bubble and fry skin side down until it has crisped. Lower the heat and cook for a further two minutes and top it with a drizzle of lemon.
Those who have tried this recipe have had overwhelmingly positive things to say about it. One person commented: “Perfectly cooked: crispy skin and pink in the middle. If you prefer it well done, fry some more or oven it for 5 mins. I served with miso soup, spring onions for a simple lunch.”
Another said: “This is a fantastic recipe. So quick and easy to add different flavours. I’ve used it several times, with perfect results every time. Tonight I’m adding a little chilli jam and ginger to the fish. Can’t wait.”
A third wrote: “The salmon was cooked to perfection following this method. I had it with a rocket and baby leaf salad with a warm olive oil and vinaigrette dressing and herby new potatoes. It was simply delicious and so easy to prep and cook.”
