Ryanair is set to offer a new route to from a major UK airport to an Italian city beloved by British holidaymakers. The budget airline is set to launch a flight between Birmingham Airport and Rome Ciampino from Sunday, October 26.
The flights between Birmingham and the airport, which is located on the outskirts of the city, will operate on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Rome Ciampino Airport is the Italian capital’s secondary international airport, behind Rome’s main international flight hub Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport.
Rome, dubbed “The Eternal City” by the Ancient Romans, is one of the world’s great cultural capitals, home to stunning architecture and ruins.
The famous among them include the awe-inspiring Roman Colosseum and the Pantheon, an ancient temple, both of which are in the centre of the city.
Rome also surrounds Vatican City, a microstate and headquarters of the Catholic Church where the Pope lives.
It’s got some stunning architecture of its own, including St. Peter’s Basilica, with an iconic dome designed by Michelangelo.
And though summer may have drawn to a close, conditions in Rome next month remain perfect for a holidaymakers.
According to Thomas Cook the average temperature in the city in October “is around 19°C that steadily lowers towards the end of the month to around 15°C”.
“There are eight hours of sunshine per day, which is enough time to shop in the city centre and enjoy an afternoon of sightseeing and exploring,” the firm continues on its website, adding: “On average, it’ll rain on 12 days of the month with an expected rainfall of around 94mm.”
Meanwhile, this winter Ryanair will be operating four flights per week between Stansted and Spanish city, Murcia.
It’s also laying on two flights a week to Trapani in Italy and three per week Lübeck and Münster, in Germany, as per Travel Gossip.
It’s also launching a service between London Luton and Wroclaw in soutwestern Poland.
