Ryan Seacrest is taking the wheel. “Wheel of Fortune,” that is.
The ubiquitous host, who departed from “Live with Kelly and Ryan” earlier this year, is set to be the new host of the popular syndicated game show.
He’ll also serve as a consulting producer on the show.
The news of Seacrest’s next gig comes on the heels of the of Pat Sajak’s announcement that he will be stepping down from his role after next season, its 41st. Sajak closed a chapter of game show history earlier this month when he said he would retire from hosting “Wheel of Fortune” after more than 40 years.
Sajak, 76, announced this month he decided to step back from the show after its upcoming season.
“Well, the time has come,” Sajak said. “I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)”
