Ryan Lochte’s new girlfriend and estranged wife are feuding after the former Olympic swimmer took aim at the mother of his three children in an email.
According to an alleged email shared by Kayla Rae Reid, who filed for divorce from Lochte in March of last year, the six-time Olympic gold medalist told her that his new partner, Molly Gillihan, is a “ten times better mother.”
Lochte, 41, then urged Reid to “look at the offer I just sent to your lawyer and move on with your gold digging life.”
Reid shared the harsh message to her Instagram story and called it the “tip of the iceberg.”
“This is what I deal with every. single. day,” Reid wrote above the email.
“This is after I checked in on our 2 year old with strep throat. This is the tip of the iceberg and I am exhausted. My heart goes out to anyone navigating a similar situation. Tired of being continuously disrespected behind closed doors. Literally 2/1000 messages.”
In response to Reid via an Instagram story, Gillihan said that Reid was a “CHILD” who recently dropped off her and Lochte’s two-year-old daughter, Georgia, “covered in throw up” before allegedly racing off to a “girls weekend in Miami.”
“You’re a CHILD And I’m exhausted of YOUR false narrative,” Gillihan wrote. “Your followers love it and crave it. Your lies are for them. Keep it up girl. They’re putty in your hands! Meanwhile, I’ll love on your kids and mine until my last breath.”
It’s not the first clash involving Reid and Gillihan, as the former previously suggested that the latter was involved with Lochte during their marriage.
“I’m so happy for him,” Reid said on her “The Comeback Era” podcast.
“They’ve been happy for a very long time. Very long time. For many years. They go way back.”
According to court documents previously obtained by Page Six, Reid filed for divorce from Lochte in March 2025.
The couple shares eight-year-old son, Caiden, and six-year-old daughter, Liv.
Since the news of their divorce, Reid has criticized Lochte’s parenting skills and hinted at a “betrayal.”
She also claimed Lochte did drugs in front of their children, with the swimmer acknowledging on social media that he went to a “really dark place” after a car accident in 2023.
He explained in September that he had completed a rehab program and was 54 days sober at the time.
“Substance abuse isn’t a solution, it’s a distraction that makes things worse,” he said.
