Jason Kelce broke the cardinal rule of broadcasting, but at least fired ESPN analyst Ryan Clark has his back.

Kelce, who joined Pat McAfee and Scott Van Pelt at ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” halftime desk during the Bears’ 27-7 domination of the Eagles, constantly referred to Philadelphia — his former team — as “we” when breaking down the game despite having retired in 2024.

“I’m looking at it, it’s 10-7, I feel pretty good going into half,” Kelce said. “We played really well offensively, we had opportunities, we shot ourselves in the foot but we’ve moved the ball, we’ve ran the ball well, Jalen Hurts has thrown the ball well. Them getting the ball coming out of half, feeling they got a lot of momentum going their way.”

McAfee called Kelce out for it: “A lot of ‘we’ talk out of Jason for Philly.”

On top of inaccurate information – the Eagles were a mess offensively for most of the game and they opened the second half with three straight punts – Kelce is supposed to be unbiased as an analyst.

Clark backed Kelce on the matter.

“I’m trying to mind my own , but hell yea it’s “We” Future Hall of Famer!! You’re a legend, Jason Kelce,” Clark said in a post on X. “Blood, sweat, tears, & glory in Philly. No one can take that away.”

“You can still do your job the right way! Bump anyone saying differently,” Clark concluded.

After McAfee’s comment pointing out the clear bias, Kelce apologized.

“Sorry,” Kelce said with his head down in embarrassment. “I forget. Sorry, Bears fans.”

As the camera panned out to commercial break, Kelce said, “Did I say we?” to his co-hosts.

McAfee was mostly well-reviewed for his showing, as he did a rehearsal in preparation for a “Monday Night Football” alt-cast that he is close to launching with ESPN, per The Athletic.
