Ukraine hammered Russia with ATACMS missiles and drones overnight, with spectacular pictures showing flames and smoke billowing into the night sky over Kursk.
Multiple loud explosions were reported in Kursk, Russia, as air defence systems were activated during a missile strike, with projectiles reportedly shot down over Kurchatov, Kursk, Zheleznogorsk, and Lgov in the region.
Kursk Governor Alexei Smirnov has now issued an all-clear in the region, confirming that seven missiles and seven drones were shot down overnight.
The Russian Fighter-Bomber blog claimed: “Well, and at night, as expected, the hohols hit an airfield in the Kursk region with ATACMS. Eight missiles. They fired seven each.
“Where they hit and what goals they wanted to achieve is not particularly clear because there are no aircraft there for a long time, and it is impossible to damage an airfield with such strikes.”
Separate footage appeared to show the Kaluga oil refinery in flames after a series of drone strikes.
