Ukraine’s army obliterated a Russian armoured convoy attempting to resupply and reinforce units on the Oskil River.
The Russians are attempting to expand their control along the river, as they bid to capture the city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region.
It is the most important sector of their long standing effort to eliminate the Ukrainian bridgehead across the Oskil River and consolidate their gains in Luhansk region.
Putin’s army has managed to reach the village of Kruhlyakivka, located by the river, and is attempting to build up its forces there.
However, due to stretched supply lines, the Russians are finding it increasingly difficult to reinforce their position.
The closest supply hub is 40 kilometres away in Svatove, and due to poor weather and muddy terrain, Russian convoys are forced to drive 15 kilometres along a highly exposed road.
In a recent battle, Ukraine’s Achilles Battalion of the 92nd Infantry Brigade detected an approaching Russian armoured convoy.
Consisting of BTR-82 armoured vehicles, the Russians were attempting to bring in assault troops to Kruhlyakivka.
Within a few minutes swarms of kamikaze drones attacked the convoy, knocking out the armoured vehicles.
The Russian soldiers were forced to bale out and continue on foot, exppsing them to further drone strikes.
The drones picked off the soldiers one by one in a brutal onslaught, leaving the burning wrecks of four armoured vehicles and bodies of dozens of dead Russians scattered along the road.
Despite the slaughter, the Russian commanders continued to send in multiple waves of mechanised units, including tanks, to try and reinforce their infantry.
However, they suffered the same fate as the previous convoy, suffering heavy casualties as they were wiped out by Ukrainian drones.
Over the course of five days of brutal fighting, Ukraine’s army destroyed more than 15 Russian armoured vehicles and inflicted massive casualties on Putin’s forces.
Over the past couple of months the Achilles Battalion has increased its size by nearly four times.
They have received a huge influx of drone operators who are possibly setting the stage for Ukraine to launch its own counteroffensive to retake the east bank of the Oskil river.
