George Russell accused Max Verstappen of issuing a chilling threat as the feud between the pair took an ugly turn at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The Mercedes star sensationally claimed that Verstappen told him he would ‘put you on your f***ing head in the wall’ after their argument at the Qatar Grand Prix exploded.
Verstappen hit out at Russell’s conduct when he was hit with a one-place grid penalty by the stewards following an incident between them in qualifying.
It robbed the Dutchman of pole, but he would go on to win the race at Lusail while Russell came home in fourth.
Verstappen continued their disagreement after they were summoned to the stewards, with the four-time champion stating he had “lost all respect” for Russell following the spat.
And the Mercedes star, 26, has opened up on what Verstappen, 27, said to him in the aftermath as tensions threatened to boil over between the two drivers.
“You know what it is? He acts decent in front of the camera here, but when you talk to him personally, he is it is a different person…” Russell said at the Drivers’ press conference in Abu Dhabi.
“I can’t stand that. In that case you can better f*** off.”
