Reel danger.
This is the terrifying moment a runaway boat sparked pandemonium on a California freeway.
The vessel detached from its U-Haul and careened across 91 Freeway in Bellflower, southeast Los Angeles County, around 5.30pm Sunday.
In a video captured by a Tesla traveling westbound near Lakewood Boulevard, the small boat flew over the divider before hitting the opposing lane.
The Tesla, which was driving in the fast lane, narrowly avoided serious damage, just missing the boat as it landed in the carpool lane.
The U-Haul driver did not stop after the vessel detached, and authorities are now searching for them.
California Highway Patrol, which responded to the scene, said no one was injured in the incident, and they cleared the lane in two hours.
