The Prince of Wales begins his first tour of Brazil today to stage his Earthshot Prize, while drama revolving around his uncle, Andrew Moundbatten Windsor, rumbles on at home. Prince William is set to take in some of Rio de Janeiro’s attractions in the run-up to the Earthshot Prize ceremony on Wednesday evening.
Today, the heir will take in Rio’s beaches, the world-famous statue of Christ the Redeemer and attend events to better understand the biodiversity of the city. Meanwhile, back home, William’s father has requested that Andrew’s final military title be removed, according to the defence secretary.
John Healey said the King had “indicated that’s what he wishes” and that the Government is working to remove Andrew’s rank as Vice Admiral in the Royal Navy. The disgraced royal was stripped of all his royal titles, honours and HRH style last week due to his links to convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.
