Royal fans all say the same thing about Prince William’s new selfie video | Royal | News

The Prince of Wales delighted royal fans on Sunday morning after he posted a selfie-style video to wish former rugby league star Kevin Sinfield the “very best of luck” for his “gruelling” fitness challenge to raise money for motor neurone disease.

Prince William described Mr Sinfield’s challenge for the condition – also known as MND – as a “fitting tribute” to his ex-Leeds teammate Rob Burrow.

Mr Sinfield will run more than 50km a day for a week to raise money for motor neurone disease charities after the death in June of his former teammate.

Prince William said: “Kevin – Catherine and I just wanted to wish you the very best of luck for what’s going to be a very gruelling week, raising money and awareness around MND.

“What you and Rob have achieved has been incredible and it’s a very fitting tribute to his legacy, what you’re achieving again this week. I’m sure you’ll be running with him in your mind the whole way round.”

The heir to the throne added: “So the very best of luck from Catherine and I. We’ll be thinking of you all week.”

Royal fans seemed to approve of William’s latest message and took to social media to praise him.

One user wrote on X: “What a great message [heart emoji]”.

A second one said: “Beautiful message. Good luck to Kevin.”

A third one added: “Great message! Kevin is incredible just like his friend was and I’m sure he will make everyone proud! Good luck to him.”

A fourth one commented: “Good Luck & Great Message.”

Mr Sinfield, 44, has helped raise in excess of £16 million in aid of MND since Burrow was diagnosed in December 2019.

Burrow was diagnosed with MND barely two years after ending his stellar playing career, but refused to give up the fight and threw himself into a campaign to raise awareness of the condition and help raise funds to find a cure.

His friend will run more than 50km per day, split into seven-kilometre blocks that he must complete within the hour before starting the next block.

The week-long challenge will take him from Liverpool to Manchester via Wrexham, Gloucester, Belfast, Glasgow, Hull and Northampton.
