Fans believe Meghan Markle is attempting a “PR cleanup” as she tries to change the narrative following the video of her twerking in a hospital room while pregnant with Princess Lilibet. On Friday evening, Meghan Markle posted a series of photos and videos from a two-day visit to Disneyland with Prince Harry, and their two children.
The footage showed Meghan wearing Minnie Mouse ears, and the family enjoying a series of rides and advenutures at the theme park. The faces of Archie and Lilibet were covered with love hearts to protect their privacy. Social media users, however, are not impressed with the post, following the backlash Meghan received for sharing a video of her twerking in a hospital room. One social media user on X wrote: “Damage control ain’t working.”
Another X user wrote: “Using happiest place on earth to make us forget about that cringe. Nope not happening.”
One commented: “Not going to work the other video will remain in the universe forever like their Netflix one.”
An X user added: “It’s not working. No one can unsee the video of her in the hospital.”
Another social media user believed Meghan was trying to re-create the image of Princess Diana on the waterslide in the theme park with her children. They wrote: “Of course there would be a water slide. A re-make of Princess Diana on a water slide with her two boys. Figures.”
Back in August 1993, Harry, 8, along with his brother Prince William, then 11, enjoyed a private visit to Walt Disney World in Florida with Princess Diana. The trip, just months after Diana’s separation from her husband Charles, was a rare moment of normalcy for the family.
The Sussexes’ visit To Disneyland was packed with memorable moments, including a sweet encounter where Archie and Lilibet met Elsa from Frozen, and the family enjoyed classic rides like the carousel.
Meghan expressed her gratitude on Instagram, posting, “Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!” while Peggy Lee’s “It’s a Good Day” set the mood.
The family photos showed them all donning Mickey Mouse ears and soaking up the Disney magic, with attractions like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, formerly Splash Mountain.
It comes as the Duchess was citicised for posting a video twerking in a bid to bring on labour while pregnant with Princess Lilibet. In the clip uploaded to social media by Meghan, a heavily pregnant Meghan is shown dancing in a hospital room alongside the Duke of Sussex.
He is beckoned in by Meghan as the pair dance together, with the duke appearing at the end with the hood of his grey hoodie up as he continues his dance moves. The release of the footage is one of the more unusual ways a member of the royal family has marked a royal birthday.
