Princess Ines of Sweden made her first public appearance today, just weeks after her parents, Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip, showed her to the world on the balcony of the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Baby Ines joined her parents as the Swedish royal family celebrated National Day and opened the palace to the public.
The four-month-old princess looked adorable in a blue and yellow traditional outfit, perfectly matching that of her mother. Sofia, who is on maternity leave, was seen cradling her baby daughter before spending the rest of the day privately with her family, as her husband carried out his official duties.
The young princess will be christened next week, on Friday, June 13, at a poignant ceremony in Drottningholm Palace Chapel.
On April 30, the day of Ines’s grandfather, King Carl XVI Gustaf’s 79th birthday, Ines made her royal balcony debut as the nation celebrated its monarch’s special day.
Sofia and Ines matched in white again as they appeared on the terrace of the royal residence.
The young royal, whose full name is Princess Ines Marie Lilian Silvia, was born back in February and has three brothers, Prince Alexander, nine, Prince Gabriel, seven, and Prince Julian, four.
Throughout the appearance on the balcony, Princess Ines remained wrapped in a white blanket and was held by Princess Sofia, who stood next to her husband, Prince Carl Philip.
Two of their three sons, Prince Julian and Prince Gabriel, were pictured on the balcony as well.
Ines’s grandfather is now Europe’s longest-serving monarch, having ascended the throne in 1973.
