ESPN’s recent efforts to cut costs will apparently put an end to the network’s morning radio show with former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson, former NBA player Jay Williams and host Max Kellerman, according to a New York Post report.
When reached by USA TODAY Sports, an ESPN spokesperson declined comment.
Despite the recent high-profile move to bring former NFL punter Pat McAfee and his popular talk show to ESPN, the network has put other programs and personnel on the chopping block as parent company Disney plans to cut spending by $5.5 billion worldwide.
Johnson signed a four-year contract with ESPN last year, worth around $18 million, the Post reports.

The Post reports ESPN is targeting talent layoffs at the end of June. However, there’s no word on when the final day of the “Keyshawn, JWill and Max” program will air. The trio has been together for a little less than two years.
A new national show is expected to take its place, but without the marquee (and highly paid) names previously heard in that time slot − going back to the popular “Mike and Mike” show with Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic that ran from 2000-2017.
