Reason expert says it’s ‘too late’ for Harry to repair royal rift | Royal | News

Royal expert Robert Jobson has suggested that an attempt to heal the ongoing rift between Prince Harry and the royals may be “too late” for one major reason. The 40-year-old announced his plans to step down from royal duties alongside Meghan Markle in 2020, and a feud has festered between the two parties ever since.

Harry, 40, has previously experienced his wish to reconcile with his family, but the feud is, at present, still ongoing. Speaking on the latest edition of The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Mr Jobson suggested that it could “too late” to repair tensions.

He said: “I think it’s too late.”, adding that, “too much has gone under the bridge, in my opinion. Too much water.”

Mr Jobson’s comments came after fans of the show were asked whether they wnated to see Harry and the royals reconcile – and a staggering 73% said no.

Sky News royal editor Rhiannon Mills then agreed with Robert, saying that the Duke of Sussex had thrown his family “under the bus”.

She added: “The biggest issue for Harry and Meghan, is that an awful lot has been said. The whole family kind of went under the bus, really, in the documentaries and in Spare. And there are lots of things that they cannot erase in terms of what’s been said.”

They also spoka about Harry’s recent trip to Angola, which saw him retrace his late mother’s steps in a minefield. The visit took place earlier this month, on a date which coincided with Queen Camilla’s birthday on July 17.

He said: “But the reality was that was a big deal then.

“It wasn’t a big deal this time around. So he’s not got the same draw that he had. He must know that. When you’ve trashed your family and monetised it.”

After stepping down as senior working royals, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle now reside in California with their children, Archie and Lilibet.
