It has been reported over the years by various publications that Prince William is not the biggest fan of his uncle Prince Andrew. While it is believed that William, 44, has distanced himself publicly from the Duke of York, 65, as a result of various scandals Andrew has been involved in over the years, it turns out that there is another reason for this.
Since marrying Princess Kate in 2011, William has shown time and time again how supportive and protective he is over his wife and their three children. In the upcoming damaging biography about Prince Andrew titled “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York”, it has been claimed that Andrew was “rude” about Princess Kate, 44, in the past, which is believed to be one of the reasons why Wiliam does not like associating with his uncle. Royal biographer Andrew Lownie, who has written the bombshell book, claimed that Prince Andrew had made alleged “nasty” comments about Princess Kate before, which were “rude” and “unkind”.
This is believed to be one of the main reasons behind William’s distance from his uncle.
As reported by The New York Post, Lownie claimed Andrew’s comments about the Princess of Wales came from his own jealousy about her prominence in the Royal Family, especially as he lost his right to be a working royal as a result of his Jeffrey Epstein associations.
While it is not known exactly what he said about Kate, Lownie told Radar Online: “ I can’t see how anyone could make unkind comments about Kate when she’s been the family’s saving grace.
“It surprised me, but people do get jealous.”
Although William has never publicly acknowledged the rift with his uncle, it has been widely reported that he avoids any public association with him.
It is also believed that Andrew may be in for a challenging time when William one day becomes King, with a source in Lownie’s book suggesting that the prince wants Andrew to be evicted from his Royal Lodge home in Windsor, where he lives with his ex wife Sarah Ferguson.
A source is quoted in the book as saying: “If Charles doesn’t (evict Prince Andrew), I guarantee you the first thing William does when he eventually becomes king is to get them evicted.”
