Prince William and Princess Kate are set for a busy few months ahead as they plan to leave their humble cottage home and move to an eight-bed mansion. While The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, seem to have enjoyed living in Adelaide Cottage, it is believed they now need more space, prompting the move to their next royal home Forest Lodge.
Only a short drive away, Forest Lodge is still in Windsor, a place the family have come to love. While some may question whether it makes more sense for William and Kate to move their family back to London, especially with William first-in-line to the throne, it is believed this is not on their agenda, with Forest Lodge set to be their “forever” home.
Just a short drive from London, Windsor is believed to be loved by the couple for a variety of reasons.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said the family want to stay in Windsor as it is “well placed for security purposes” and has plenty of outdoor space for them to enjoy too, as well as greater privacy.
Mr Fitzwilliams said: “The move makes perfect sense as Princess Kate’s parents and siblings live nearby and they are a very close knit family. Also their children go to nearby Lambrook School and Eton, a strong possibility for George, is also nearby.
“They are fond of Berkshire and its countryside, and also have a London base and press office in Kensington Palace, and a country home in Anmer Hall. Forest Lodge, with eight bedrooms and nearby cottages where staff can live, seems ideal.
“Forest Lodge is a family home, well placed for security purposes and in their beloved countryside too.”
