Real reason behind Prince Louis’ mischief at Jubilee has been revealed

Prince Louis left royal fans in stitches with his mischievous antics at the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.

Despite displaying behaviour typical of a four-year-old child, the reason behind his cheeky nature at the historic event has been revealed.

Speaking on his podcast The Good, The Bad and The Rugby, former rugby player – and Zara Tindall’s husband – Mike Tindall shared that there were “lots of sweets around” during the weekend of the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Discussing Louis, Mike said: “Louis was just wanting to have fun, and my two are always mischievous, so it was [about] trying to keep a lid on.

“There were a lot of sweets out back there, so they had complete sugar highs.”

Mike added: “It’s tough for them, they’re all young sitting there from two to five or whatever, it’s a long time, (and) as any parent knows you just do what needs to be done.”

Louis also appeared to win over royal fans with his hilarious antics at the King’s Coronation last year, with one expert previously stating that he has “no idea that he’s a national treasure”.

Speaking to OK!, royal expert Jennie Bond said: “They wouldn’t be aware of all the ongoing press coverage about them. I’m sure they’re being shielded largely from it.

“Louis probably doesn’t know that he is basically a national treasure now!”

Writing for the Telegraph, shortly after the Platinum Jubilee, author Christina Hopkinson praised the young royal for his cheeky behaviour.

Ms Hopkinson wrote: “All hail Prince Louis, the little face-pulling, raspberry-blowing, mother-baiting pre-schooler.

“His antics on the Buckingham Palace balcony and in the royal box during the Jubilee Pageant rivalled only Paddington Bear in scene-stealing appeal.

“Cheeky, mischievous and naughty are just three of the adjectives that have been applied to his performance.”

Although many believe that Louis got his mischievous nature from his uncle Prince Harry, one expert claimed that he likely got his characteristics from his dad Prince William.

Kensington Palace previously released a clip of a stroppy William after his mum Princess Diana told him to come inside after playtime.

The video was shared on TikTok and received over one million likes as royal fans enjoy the vintage footage.
