The Ravens have solved their quarterback situation — for now.
Baltimore is finalizing a trade with the Cardinals for Jacoby Brissett, who will helm the offense with incumbent Lamar Jackson and backup Tyler Huntley both sidelined by injuries.
Brissett, 33, was demoted to Arizona’s emergency third quarterback this week after he was benched for Gardner Minshew in the Cardinals’ 33-30 come-from-behind win over the Cowboys.

The journeyman signal-caller will head to his eighth NFL team since entering the league in 2016, after assuming the Arizona QB1 role in 2025.
He skipped most of the Cardinals’ training camp over a contract dispute, eventually agreeing to a reworked deal that pays him a base of $15.5 million this season.
The Ravens won’t get a chance to see him suit up in Week 9, as the trade isn’t expected to be done in time for their “Thursday Night Football” matchup with the Jaguars.
That leaves third-stringer Joe Fagnano as the starter.
Baltimore enters the matchup at 4-4, last in the AFC North.
Jackson returned to the Ravens’ lineup last week against the Bills following a three-week injury absence, but left after just one play, ending up on IR with a thumb injury.
He’s facing potential season-ending surgery.

Huntley, who filled in for Jackson, is expected to be done for the year with a turf-toe injury, leaving Fagnano atop the depth chart while they await Brissett’s arrival.
In eight starts on the season, Brissett has completed 193 of 305 pass attempts for 1,719 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions, adding 87 rushing yards and a score on the ground.
In his 11 NFL seasons, he’s suited up for the Patriots, Colts, Dolphins, Browns and Commanders in addition to the Cardinals, with the Ravens soon to be added to that list.
