The Royal Family were out in force today as several of them attended King Charles’s pre-Christmas in London – but there was one particular royal who caught fans’ attention.
Samuel Chatto, the grandson of the late Princess Margaret, was one of the attendees at today’s lunch party at Buckingham Palace.
The 28-year-old, who is a sculptor with a pottery studio in West Sussex, is the eldest son of Lady Sarah Chatto, Margaret’s only daughter, and Daniel Chatto.
He was seen driving to Buckingham Palace today with his mother and father driving a separate car. Sam wore a suit under a dark coat, which he paired with the Prince of Wales Highgrove scarf in mustard and grey tones.
The young royal, who is 29th in line to the throne, was born on July 28, 1996, and studied at Eton before enrolling at the University of Edinburgh to study History of Art in 2018.
Sam has a younger brother, Arthur, born on February 5, 1999, who is a former personal trainer and as of 2022 he was serving in the Royal Marines.
The Chattos do not undertake royal duties but have frequently attended several high-profile events alongside the rest of the royals, including the King’s Coronation, the Princess of Wales’s Christmas Carol concerts and Royal Ascot.
Royal fans could not contain their excitement at the sight of the young royal and took to social media to express their jubilation.
One user wrote on X: “Danggggg, he’s [heart eyes emoji] [star eyes emoji].”
A second one wrote: “Wow [star eyes emoji] it’s been a long long time since I’ve seen him. I think I’ve seen more pictures of Arthur but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen him too but wow, he’s gorgeous. Is he in college or did he join the military too?”
A third one replied: “Sam works in the art world. He left collage ages ago. And actually we have seen him more of Sam in recent years if we compare to Arthur!!”
A fourth one opined: “Those Chatto Boys should have more Royal engagements. They have always been active within Royal family and appear to be responsible and reliable, fine examples of what Royals should be. Hopefully we’ll see more of them.”
