The Promenade is gone.

The Rams’ vision for what replaces it still has a few key steps to clear.

Demolition of the longtime Woodland Hills shopping mall has opened the site for Rams Village at Warner Center, a proposed 52-acre development anchored by the team’s permanent headquarters and training facility. But the cleared land represents an early milestone in a project expected to unfold over years.

The development is now in the hands of the City of Los Angeles and is currently moving through a Project Permit Compliance review at the Los Angeles Planning Department.

No construction has begun on the new district, and no building permits for that development have been issued.

Yet.

Assuming the city of Los Angeles signs off on the plan, construction is projected to begin in 2027, with the project’s full completion expected to take roughly a decade.

That remains a projected timeline, with the approval process still ahead of construction.

For anyone who grew up in the San Fernando Valley, the disappearance of the Promenade already marks a significant change. A familiar landmark has given way to open ground and the promise of something considerably different.

Rams owner Stan Kroenke’s plans call for a neighborhood featuring more than 3,100 homes, restaurants, retail, offices, a hotel and entertainment venues surrounding the team’s permanent home.

The Rams, meanwhile, are already working in Woodland Hills.

Their temporary practice facility opened in August 2024 and is expected to remain in use throughout construction. The permanent training complex would retain the existing outdoor grass fields and add an indoor practice facility.

That gives the organization an established presence while the larger development works through the planning process.

The demolition has changed the view. Turning the renderings into a functioning neighborhood will take considerably longer.

For now, the next major developments will come through city review, permits and a firmer construction schedule.
