Queen Camilla's 'two words of concern' as King Charles faces prostate procedure

Queen Camilla has issued a warning to husband King Charles as he battles with prostate procedure that will see him take a step back from public engagements. Charles, 75, was seen for the first time since the procedure on his Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

He is thought to be recuperating there following the operation after Buckingham Palace announced he was undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate last week.

His diagnosis followed a number of state visits to various locations, including Kenya, France and Germany in 2023. But according to The Sun, his wife Queen Camilla has told him he needs to “slow down” a bit as he recovers from the procedure.

An insider said: “The Queen has told him he needs to slow down a bit.” Charles was seen driving around his Sandringham Estate as he scrapped all public engagements on the advice of doctors.

It’s thought the King shared his diagnosis in the hope of getting more men to check for symptoms.

And it seemed to have worked, with the NHS England page on benign prostate enlargement receiving 26,170 visits in the 48 hours after the announcement — compared to a daily average of just 1,400.

Charles had 516 engagements last year, including 94 that took place abroad. But he’s been forced to slow down following his procedure, although it’s not clear how long doctors have ordered him to recuperate at home for.

And the King isn’t the only royal who has undergone medical treatment, with Princess Kate recovering in hospital following an abdominal surgery.

Though details of her condition have not been released, it’s thought she will also take time off from public engagements in the coming months.

Camilla told well-wishers her husband was “fine” as she greeted them during an official visit to Swindon.
