Queen Camilla sparks fan frenzy in new Fiona Clare dress with stunning floral detail

Queen Camilla turned heads on Tuesday when she hosted a reception at Windsor Castle for authors, illustrators and binders who have been involved in the new Miniature Library collection.

The Queen oozed elegance in a royal blue skirt suit by Fiona Clare, a designer favoured many times by the royal.

The suit featured intricate floral detailing and white lacing stitched around the edges.

King Charles’s wife donned a pair of Russell and Brombley “Dressage” knee-high black suede boots (£445) but her choice of jewellery stole the show.

Camilla accessorised her chic ensemble with the ‘Apollo’ mini blue topaz and diamond pendant in yellow gold by Kiki McDonough (£2,300), a gold plate pendant with a ruby (her July birthstone) centre stone and 5 initials of her grandchildren from her first marriage.

The Queen also wore her famous Van Cleef & Arpels Vintage Alhambra 5 motifs 18k yellow gold & Agate bracelet (£4,031).

Royal fans were quick to jump on the hype train as they praised the Queen’s style choice, with many noting the skirt suit’s cut.

One user wrote on Instagram: “I really like the embellishments and the sharp shoulders. And blue is definitely her best colour,” while another one said: “I really like this. It’s not far out of her usual with the shape and colour but the braid and colour contrast really elevate it.”

A third user commented: “I love this new outfit, she is always so nice and smiling” while a fourth one chimed: “I do love her repeated outfits”.

Camilla appeared to be in high spirits as she joked during the event that writing a miniature book for the centenary celebrations of the world’s most famous dolls’ house affected her eyesight.

The Queen created a tiny manuscript, a handwritten introduction to the unique library, which she saw for the first time at yesterday’s reception.

The 76-year-old marvelled at her creation having been presented with it by Glenn Bartley, head of the Royal Bindery.
