Taking to the Royal Family Instagram account today, Camilla said it had been a “fantastic afternoon” at the rescue centre.

The post read: “It was a fantastic afternoon at @Battersea – we are so grateful for all that you do!

“Whilst Moley was keeping cool at home, he wishes he could have been reunited with some of his old friends!”

The post then contained top tips for how dogs can stay cool in summer, including keeping them in the shade, giving them water, protecting paws from hot surfaces and never leaving dogs in cars.

The sweet photograph of Her Majesty and the pup is believed to have been taken at the Queen’s private Wiltshire home, which she has owned since 1995.

The home, which she brought after divorcing her first husband Andrew Parker-Bowles, is believed to be a place where Camilla enjoys relaxing with her family at weekends.

It is believed to be just a short drive from her husband’s Highgrove home, and was once described as the place where she could really be herself.

Moley is the third dog Camilla has rescued from Battersea, having rescued Jack Russell Terriers Beth and Bluebell previously, with Beth sadly dying last year.
