Queen Camilla looked delighted as she arrived at Worcester Cathedral on Thursday for the annual Royal Maundy service, this time without King Charles by her side.

She was dressed in a springlike cream full-length coat by Fiona Clare, another one of her most trusted designers.

Her fur-trimmed hat is by Lock and Co., which she teamed with beige suede boots and two floral clip brooches.

Queen Camilla shone in cream today as she attended the Royal Maundy Thursday service today, this time without King Charles as he continues to receive treatment for his cancer.

Ignoring the anti-monarchy protesters and windy weather, the Queen beamed as she arrived at Worcester Cathedral for the traditional service, held every years on the Thursday before Easter Sunday.

Although the King was not able to be there in person, he delivered an audio address to the congregation at the Cathedral where he reaffirmed his Coronation pledge “not to be served but to serve” with “my whole heart”.

He expressed his “great sadness” at not being there and said: “The act of worship, here in Worcester Cathedral, reminds me of the pledge I made at the beginning of the Coronation service – to follow Christ’s example ‘not to be served but to serve’.

“That I have always tried to do and continue to do, with my whole heart. It is my special prayer today that our Lord’s example of serving one another might continue to inspire us and to strengthen all our communities.”

Queen Camilla’s choice of outfit for Royal Maundy was chic yet appropriate with a colour of combination of cream, beige, brown and black.

Her black leather gloves and brown leather bag were necessary accessories for a chilly March day, with Easter falling earlier than usual this year.

Fiona Clare is one of Camilla’s favourite designers, and along with Bruce Oldfield and Anna Valentine is responsible for many of her formal outfits.

Huge crowds in Worcester were on hand to welcome the Queen, as well as a number of protesters holding up large yellow placards that read ‘Not my Queen’.

The group were from Republic, the country’s most well-known anti-royal organisation, however Camilla ignored them and cheerfully carried on with her duties.

Republic are known to frequently protest large royal events and visits, as they did at the Coronation.

Camilla has been representing her husband the King at several royal engagements this year due to his ill health, however fortunately he will be able to attend the Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

The service will be somewhat pared down due to his illness, with the Wales family unable to be there due to Princess Kate’s own battle with cancer.

News of her diagnosis was made official last Friday evening and she will be undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
