Queen Camilla was all smiles tonight as she hosted a star-studded event at Buckingham Palace.
The Queen, 77, held at the palace in London a reception for staff, actors and supporters of the National Theatre.
Throughout the evening on Tuesday, Her Majesty – who has been the royal patron of the National Theatre since 2022 – spent time talking to a number of guests including Lesley Manville, Cate Blanchett, Rory Kinnear, Imelda Staunton and Jim Carter.
Among them was also comedian, actor and friend of Prince Harry – James Corden. The entertainer and the Queen were pictured at one point during the evening laughing together.
The Queen, dressed in an elegant navy blue dress, also posed for photographs with Director and Co-Chief Executive of the National Theatre Rufus Norris. The King did not accompany his wife as she hosted the reception tonight.
As well as meeting actors, staff and supporters, Her Majesty was also treated to a performance.
She has been patron of the National Theatre since 2022 when she took over from Meghan Markle, who was withdrawn from the role after stepping down from royal life with Prince Harry in 2020.
The reception hosted by the Queen tonight comes just days before Camilla and King Charles will host a reception together at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.
They will be joined by Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
At Thursday’s reception, the royals will mark the anniversaries of four global charities, including International Health Partners, which was founded 20 years ago, and ShelterBox, which was first formed 25 years ago.
The charities Islamic Relief, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and Christian Aid, which will be marking its 80th anniversary this year, will also be celebrated at the event.
