King Charles and Queen Camilla were received by the President of the Italian Republic and his daughter, The First Lady, at the Quirinale Palace earlier today. The couple – who arrived in Italy on Monday – and have embarked on the second day of their four-day State Visit.
Taking to X, one account shared a video of the King joining Sergio Mattarella and Laura Mattarella for a picture opportunity during the royal couple’s ceremonial welcome. In a video, the social media user wrote that the King appeared agitated as Queen Camillaslowly followed suit to join him and their Italian hosts for the photo opportunity.
Taking to X, user @antoguerrera wrote, “Here King Charles didn’t look particularly amused with Queen Camilla”, followed by various emojis including both the UK and Italian flags.
As the couple stepped out for their second day in Rome, Camilla, 77, looked a vision in a blue silk crepe dress and coat by designer Fiona Clare. The royal completed her look with a diamond and sapphire brooch that once belonged to Queen Victoria.
A colour that has often been worn by Camilla, royal fans appeared impressed by her latest look as the couple kicked off their Italian tour – despite her mishap during the photo call.
Taking to social media, one fan commented, “She looks beautiful”.
Another wrote, “A real regal moment, Camilla looks beautiful. It is lovely to see her and King Charles out and about.”
Speaking of her “magnificent” brooch, fans were impressed by her optimism to keep her late mother-in-law’s spirit alive.
