If you’re constantly running out of space in your wardrobe, you’re not alone.

Over 75% of people in the UK say modern homes lack sufficient storage, with more than half admitting their wardrobes are overflowing, a situation made worse by the fact that bedrooms built after 1930 are 12.5% smaller.

An expert has revealed a simple trick to triple your wardrobe space for just 11p — vertical hanger clips, which maximise both vertical and horizontal space in your wardrobe.

Carl Benson, space saving expert at Suffolk Pocket Door company said: “When organising home spaces, many people don’t consider using every part of the space.

“These nifty little space saving clips help by making use of both the vertical and horizontal space in a wardrobe.

“You can fit around 4 hangers in a standard drop, giving you 4 times the organisational power to transform your wardrobe into a clutter free haven you can be proud of.

“Simple slip the clip on to the hook of the hanger and organise outfits together or group by colour to give you a space you can be truly proud of.

“Remember, when organising your home, consider the ROS – return on space – on every decision and you’ll be amazed about how much extra space can be created.”

Vertical hanger clips, available from retailers like Amazon in packs of 60 for just £6.99, allow you to hang multiple items in the same vertical space.

This can effectively quadruple the storage capacity in your wardrobe, transforming it into a more organised, clutter-free space.

Simply slip the clip onto the hook of your hanger and group your clothes by color or outfit.

Benson shared additional space-saving tips, such as using bins or baskets to store smaller items like socks, accessories, or underwear.

He suggested storing off-season clothes in vacuum-sealed bags to free up space and swapping regular hangers for slimmer ones to fit more clothes.

Every few months, declutter your wardrobe by getting rid of items you no longer wear or need and if you’re unsure how to optimise your space, Benson advises consulting a professional for tailored storage solutions.
