Putin mocks Trump’s plans for Ukraine peace with ‘terrorist’ strike | World | News

Vladimir Putin’s forces launched a brutal aerial bombing of a hospital in Ukraine overnight. Six patients were wounded from blast wave glass injuries at the medical facility in Kharkiv. A total of 57 sick patients had to be evacuated after the barbaric attack – the latest Russian hit on civilians.

More than 50 – many elderly – suffered “acute stress reactions”. The savage strike came as Donald Trump turned against Putin and is hinting at significantly re-arming Ukraine to put pressure on the Kremlin dictator who has so far refused to engage in peace talks. The US president has summoned Volodymyr Zelensky to the White House on Friday amid speculation Trump will defy warnings from the Putin regime and supply Kyiv with powerful long range Tomahawk missiles and other weapons.

“There are certain issues that cannot be discussed over the phone,” said a US source.

“All patients who were in the hospital at the time of the Russian guided bomb strike have been transferred to another medical facility. They are currently being examined by doctors,” said Ukraine’s emergency service.

Psychologists were also working with the traumatised patients in the wake of the strike on the Saltivskyi district of the city. A three-floor medical facility building, an enterprise building, and passenger cars were damaged.

An outbuilding was also completely destroyed. “Two fire outbreaks occurred,” added the emergency service. The Putin war machine also plunged five settlements in Kirovohrad region into darkness with a strike on electricity facilities. Civilians were also wounded in Dnipropetrovsk region from Russian aerial bombs, and Sumy border region was hit as the Kremlin maintained its relentless strikes on Ukraine.

Russia hit Ukraine with 96 drone attacks overnight with 69 shot down or disrupted by electronic warfare.Trump on Monday told the Knesset in Israel that the Ukraine war was his next priority. “First, we have to get Russia done,” he said. “Let’s focus on Russia first.”

Zelensky said the “main topics” of his visit to Washington this week were “air defence and our long-range capabilities to put pressure on Russia for the sake of peace”. Volodymyr Zelensky branded the hospital bombing “an absolutely terrorist, cynical strike on a place where lives are saved”. He urged the West to supply more military help to Kyiv.

Zelensky said: “Ukraine needs enough air defence means to close the sky from missiles, drones, and guided bombs. Then Russian aerial terror will lose all meaning. The world must force Moscow to sit at the table for real negotiations. Only peace through strength can bring results.”
