All eyes are on whether superstar wide receiver Puka Nacua can suit up for the Los Angeles Rams against the New York Giants on Monday night.

Several rumors about Nacua’s status have circulated, but there has not been a clear indication of whether he’ll play after a knee issue popped up during practice earlier this week.

ESPN NFL Adam Schefter typically has a good idea of where a player’s status stands, and he shared a concerning update during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Monday.

“It certainly sounds like Puka is trending towards not playing tonight against the Giants,” Schefter said.

“We’ll see how it goes. Now, [the Rams] are not giving up hope that he can go out in pregame warmups, feel good, lights are on, and all of a sudden he decides to play. But it doesn’t sound promising right now that Puka is gonna be available for the Rams, which will obviously be a huge deal.”

It sounds like Nacua will still be a game-time decision ahead of Monday night’s contest.

But Schefter’s sentiment makes it seem like Rams fans (and fantasy football managers) should prepare for him being inactive for this Week 2 road contest.

Another key receiver, Jordan Whittington, is doubtful for the game after suffering a quad injury in the team’s frustrating 27-7 defeat to the 49ers in Australia to open the season.

They also placed Myles Garrett on IR after knee surgery that will keep the stud defensive end out at least the next four games after LA acquired him in a blockbuster trade this offseason.
