PS Plus members running out of time to play three modern day classics

Sony recently announced the PS Plus Extra games for April 2025, confirming that Hogwarts Legacy, EA Sports PGA Tour, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2 and Battlefield 1 will join the service on April 15. That’s in addition to brand new release Blue Prince, which is out now.

Unfortunately, however, it’s not all good news, because Sony will also remove a selection of PlayStation Plus Extra games on April 15. This includes three modern classics that are among some of the best games released in the past ten years.

First up is stylish Metroidvania game Animal Well, which is ninth in the top ten games for 2024 on Metacritic.

The game sees players explore a mysterious labyrinth, using items in unique ways to scare away enemies and overcome danger.

“In Animal Well there is more than what you see,” reads the official description. “Explore a dense interconnected labyrinth, and unravel its many secrets.

“Collect items to manipulate your environment in surprising and meaningful ways. Encounter creatures both beautiful and unsettling, and try to survive what lurks in the dark.”

Another game leaving the service is Disco Elysium The Final Cut, which is the definitive version of the fan favourite RPG.

Players take control of an amnesiac detective tasked with investigating a murder. It’s an unconventional game with unforgettable characters and a fantastic soundtrack. If you start playing on the weekend then you should have just enough time to see the case through to its end.

The other game that you absolutely should not miss is Slay the Spire, which is a roguelike deckbuilder with an utterly addictive gameplay loop.

The aim of the game is to defeat enemies and bosses as you make your way through the Spire. You’ll collect cards and other relics along your journey, each with their own unique abilities and modifiers.

If you don’t manage to “Slay the Spire” and want to keep playing after it leaves PS Plus Extra, then you can always pick up a copy for £19.99 from the PlayStation Store.

Other games leaving PS Plus on April 15 include Tales of Kenzera Zau, Nour: Play With Your Food, Deliver Us Mars, Miasma Chronicles, Stray Blade and Kena Bridge of Spirits.

The games will be replaced by PlateUp, Hogwarts Legacy, EA Sports PGA Tour, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2 and Battlefield 1.

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, then Hogwarts Legacy is easily the pick of the bunch. Taking place in the 1800s, the game sees players enrol in the famous school for witchcraft and wizardry.

Not only will you need to foil an ancient plot involving dark magic, but you’ll also need to attend classes and form friendships.

It’s the complete opposite of something like Battlefield 1, where the aim is to kill enemy soldiers across a variety of maps set in Europe during World War I.
