Sony is about to remove more than 20 games from PS Plus Extra and Premium in May, including what is currently the second best-selling game of all time.
From May 20, PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra subscribers will no longer be able to play Grand Theft Auto 5 as part of their membership. The timing couldn’t be worse, after GTA 6 was delayed until May 2026.
There is a chance GTA 5 could rejoin the service at a later date, which has already happened multiple times. Still, if you’re working through the campaign, you may want to hurry and finish the title before it’s removed.
In addition to GTA 5, Sony will remove the likes of MotopGP 24, The Sims 4 Island Living and Stranded Alien Dawn on May 20.
That’s on top of Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, The Lego Movie 2 Videogame and Ghostrunner.
Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, Portal Knights, Enter the Gungeon, Batman Arkham Knight, Infamous Second Son, Resistance Fall of Man and Resistance 2 are also leaving the service.
Unfortunately, despite Revenge of the Savage Planet launching in May, Sony is removing predecessor Journey to the Savage Planet from PS Plus Extra.
While GTA 5 is undoubtedly the highest-profile game leaving the service, it’s arguably worse for Premium subscribers.
PS Plus Premium subscribers are about to lose a boatload of PSVR 2 titles, which is a real blow.
This includes Walkabout Mini Golf, which is a personal favourite as it controls so perfectly.
Synth Riders Remastered Edition, Ghostbusters Rise of the Ghost Lord, Before Your Eyes are also leaving the service.
Finally, high-profile PSVR 2 titles The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners and The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners Chapter 2 Retribution are also leaving on May 20.
