The Princess of Wales’s uncle has been torn apart after making an admission about Meghan Markle on last night’s Celebrity Big Brother.
Gary Goldsmith is currently one of the housemates in the new series of the popular reality show. The businessman, 58, is the younger brother of Carole Middleton – making him the uncle of Princess Kate.
After only entering the house on Monday, Gary wasted no time discussing the Royal Family – including his opinion on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Fellow housemate Louis Walsh asked Gary if he’d ever met Meghan, to which he said, “no”.
Gary then went on to say: “…and when they were a threesome, so Kate, William and Harry, they looked really comfortable together, and loved.
“And then suddenly, there is an extra dynamic that comes in, puts a stick in the spokes, and creates so much drama that I don’t genuinely think was there, and rewrote the history and said how unhappy he was. And I just don’t think that’s fair.”
Fans have taken to social media to slam the 58-year-old after admitting that he’d never even met Meghan.
Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – one fan wrote: “Gary Goldsmith is talking out of his a***. You know nothing, mate. Shut up.”
Another wrote: “It’s taken Gary Goldsmith all of 10 minutes to start sharing the family secrets and slating Harry and Meghan.”
A third commented: “Gary Goldsmith is appalling, ‘I’ve never met Meghan… but this is why I hate her’.”
Praising his niece Kate, who was a bridesmaid at his first wedding in 1991, Gary said she is the “saviour” of the Royal Family.
Although admitting that Kate is “difficult to get hold of”, Gary said that he is happy with the fact that she is “putting family first”.
Gary was a guest at Kate’s royal wedding in 2011, as well as at the 2016 wedding of his other niece, Pippa.
Meghan officially joined the Royal Family in May 2018, less than two years after first meeting Harry.
The Duke, 39, and Duchess, 42, now live in the US with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
