Princess Kate's uncle slams The Crown's 'evil' portrayal of his sister Carole Middleton

Princess Kate’s uncle has lashed out over The Crown’s “evil” portrayal of his sister, Carole Middleton.

The final episodes of Netflix’s The Crown were released last month and rounded up the last-ever instalment of the popular series.

Speaking on the Daily Mail’s podcast, The Crown: Fact or Fiction, Gary Goldsmith discussed that the show became “difficult to watch” and noted the “evil” portrayal of his sister and niece.

Ms Goldsmith said: “Carole isn’t that manipulative evil person… coming up with ways by which she can force her way into the Royal Family.

First and foremost, Kate did brilliantly well to get into St Andrews. She’s an amazing girl, but that wasn’t noted.”

The final series of the show depicts Kate’s mum Carole Middleton as going all out to ensure that her daughter would meet the future King.

He added: “It was all to do with ‘Kate you’ve got to be doing these things, you’ve got to be showing your legs’, and it’s just not my family. It’s not the way Carole operates.”

When asked whether Kate or any of the Middleton family watched the show, Mr Goldsmith said: “I think the family is a bit too classy to watch stuff like that.”

The portrayal of Kate and her mum also captured the attention of royal fans, who likened Mrs Middleton to The Kardashian’s Kris Jenner.

Taking to X, one fan wrote: “Kate Middleton’s mom is the British Kris Jenner.” A second fan agreed: “Kate’s Mum is our Kris Jenner.”

Speaking of Carole’s portrayal, another comment read: “Carole Middleton walked so Kris Jenner could run.”

Jokingly, a fourth fan wrote: “Watching The Crown and discovering that Carole Middleton is a British Kris Jenner was not on my bingo card. I have a whole new view of Will and Kate’s relationship.”

It was previously reported that Gary Goldsmith was set to pen his own tell-all memoir on the Royal Family’s ongoing feud with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

However, while initially stressed that he wouldn’t reveal any secrets that might embarrass his royal niece or her husband, he has reportedly now has had a change of heart and won’t be releasing a memoir.

Speaking in relation to a possible memoir, one source said: “There was a fear that it could have triggered a second book from the Sussexes in retaliation.”
