Princess Kate’s uncle Gary issues apology after slamming ‘fickle’ Meghan Markle

Gary addressed the extremely poor timing of his interview running just after Kate announced her cancer diagnosis on the BBC.

“As many will have seen, I am featured in Saturday’s ‘Times Magazine.’ This interview and shoot was done over a week ago and went to print before I was aware of the sad news regarding my niece Kate,” he shared on X (formerly Twitter).

“My thoughts and prayers are with Kate and the wider family at this difficult time and deeply upset at the timing of this article.

“I hope this draws a line over the continued speculation and horrible conspiracies. Let’s give Kate, William & the children time and show some love back.”

Gary did not mention his comments about Meghan, however.

His apology has sparked another row on social media, with some users claiming he was using his connections to the royals for exposure.

One person said: “Stop talking about them. Just stop. Stop using them to try and make yourself relevant. You aren’t in the know. This is why you aren’t in the know. You keep running your mouth.”

Another replied: “Should have kept your mouth shut – no loyalty shame on you.”

Royal insiders insist Gary is not close with the Princess of Wales and “is not privy to personal information”, per the Telegraph.

It’s believed that her parents, as well as sister Pippa and brother James, will be her main source of support during her chemotherapy, as well as husband Prince William.

After Kate’s announcement video, James wrote on social media: “Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too.”
