Princess Kate's pal gives four-word update on her condition ahead of big public return

The Princess of Wales will return to her royal duties with a “big bang” on Easter Sunday, March 31, one of her friends has claimed.

Princess Kate has been absent from royal engagements ever since she underwent abdominal surgery back in January.

The royal was an inpatient at the London Clinic for nearly two weeks before continuing her recovery at home in Windsor.

But while Kensington Palace initially announced the princess was to return after Easter – with some people suggesting this could also mean after the children’s Easter holidays – a friend who is close to Kate, and one close to King Charles, said they hoped the future queen would make a grand reappearance in less than two weeks.

One source told the Daily Beast: “She is doing well. Everything is on track. Easter will be the big bang moment.”

Another source close to the King said the monarch – who will unlikely be in attendance – “hopes” Kate would attend church at Easter but the final decision would be ultimately up to her

Meanwhile, a former Buckingham Palace staffer claimed Easter would be “the natural choice” for the Princess of Wales to make her return as it would provide a “powerful dose of continuity”.

The former courtier added that following the Mother’s Day photo editing fiasco – when photo agencies pulled a picture released by Kensington Palace featuring Kate and her children as it appeared to be digitally altered – it is unlikely that there would be another media campaign featuring the royal, who is now said to delegate photographing her family for media handouts to professional photographers.

Just yesterday, Getty Images “killed” another photo taken by Kate of the late Queen Elizabeth after the photo agency declared it had been digitally altered.

The source said: “We won’t be seeing any more official pictures with Kate’s credit. It would just stir the whole story up again.

“The kids are older now anyway, so it is less of an issue.”

It comes as Kate was last Saturday seen with Prince William looking happy and well during a visit to a farm shop in Windsor.

That was the first time Kate has been caught on video since Christmas Day in 2023.
