Princess Kate’s four-word message to Prince Louis as he appears restless on balcony | Royal | News

While Trooping the Colour was a massive success on Saturday and took place without a hitch, it seems that there was a moment when Princess Kate had to keep her youngest child in check. As the senior royals gathered on the Buckingham Palace balcony for a special flypast to mark the end of the celebrations held for the monarch’s official birthday, a young Louis, seven, could be seen getting a bit overexcited.

As well as showing delight at the planes that flew overhead, especially his “favourite” Red Arrows, Louis also seemed delighted at the cheers he was receiving from the crowd each time he waved. This resulted in the young prince waving a number of times during the balcony appearance, prompting his older brother Prince George, 11, to instruct him to stop.

However, it wasn’t just George that had to keep Louis in check, with Princess Kate also having to give her son a very simple four-word instruction.

Lip reader Jeremy Freeman said that Kate, 43, had to tell Louis to stand for the national anthem as the young prince seemed restless.

Freeman exclusively told The Mirror that Kate said: “National anthem. Louis, stand.”

Louis was then seen having straightened his posture and standing mainly still as the anthem was played.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte, Louis’ older siblings, meanwhile did not seem restless at all, and did not seem to need reminding about protocol when the anthem played.

They also knew to walk inside after waving their final goodbyes to the crowds lining The Mall, while a happy Prince Louis seemed to want to stay on the balcony for as long as possible.

Even after being guided inside by Princess Kate, Louis couldn’t help but turn around to give royal fans a final waving before returning inside.

This sparked fan frenzy on X, with one fan saying: “I love the fact that Prince Louis had to have one last wave.”

Another wrote: “Louis loves the balcony.”
