Princess Kate showed her true colours on Wednesday night during Donald Trump’s speech with one key sign, a body language expert has claimed. The Princess of Wales was the epitome of elegance as she stepped out in a gold gown by British designer Phillipa Lepley to attend King Charles and Queen Camilla’s glittering state banquet at Windsor Castle.
Kate looked relaxed as she greeted the American couple, US President Donald Trump and his wife, First Lady Melania. She was also seen chatting with other guests at the grand affair.
During the state banquet, the US President and the King both gave speeches, with Mr Trump praising Kate for looking so “radiant and so healthy”.
Now, a body language expert has given his verdict on the royal’s interactions with the US President on Wednesday evening.
Darren Stanton said the pair’s body language is “totally reciprocated” while they chatted, with Kate’s head tilts showing “genuine interest” in what Mr Trump had to say to her, which was reciprocated back her way.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, the body language expert explained: “Trump and Kate, we see their body language totally reciprocated. Kate is tilting her head, which means she is genuinely interested in what he’s saying. It shows deep, active listening, which a lot of people don’t do.
“Trump is reciprocating this gesture back, so he’s authentic in his comments about being honoured to be one of the very few presidents who’ve been invited for a second state visit.”
Mr Trump said during his speech: “His Majesty has also raised a remarkable son in His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. Really amazing. We’ve gotten to know you and I think you’re going to have an unbelievable success in future.
“Melania and I are delighted to visit again with Prince William and to see Her Royal Highness, Princess Catherine, so radiant and so healthy; it’s so beautiful. It’s really a great honour, thank you.”
Meanwhile, the King praised the US president for his commitment to “finding solutions to some of the world’s most intractable conflicts” and spoke of a “new era” of the infamous special relationship between the two nations.
