Princess Kate showed her true colours on Saturday when she shared a sweet moment with the oldest member of the Royal Family. The Princess of Wales, 43, joined fellow senior royals at Trooping the Colour celebrations on Saturday – an annual event held to mark the official birthday of the monarch.
As well as joining the procession in a horse-drawn carriage, Kate also appeared on the famous Buckingham Palace balcony, where she was seen sharing a sweet exchange with the Duke of Kent, 89. The princess and the late Queen’s cousin were seen greeting each other on the balcony, with Kate placing her arm gently on the duke’s elbow.
As reported by Hello!, the duke then appeared to give the Princess of Wales a discreet air kiss, showing the sweet bond between them. It once again highlights Kate’s ability to get on well with everyone in the Firm.
This comes just a month after they shared a similar warm embrace at the 80th anniversary of VE Day celebrations.
While walking past the duke to get to her seat to watch the procession in May, Kate gently placed her hand over his while saying a quick hello.
The pair exchanged wide smiles at one another, yet another sign of the sweet relationship they share.
Although not seen often, the Duke of Kent is still a full-time working royal and carries out a number of royal engagements.
He spends most of his time living at Wren House on the Kensington Palace estate with his wife the Duchess of Kent, who stepped back from royal duties in 1996.
The duke attends most of the major royal events, and can often be seen on the Buckingham Palace balcony with other senior royals.
