Princess Kate shines in blush pink gown and Lovers Knot tiara at Palace white tie event

Princess Kate has attended at the Buckingham Palace Diplomatic Reception for the Diplomatic Corps looking wonderful in a blush pink gown Jenny Packham, which she has accessorised with the Lovers Knot tiara, her family order and Greville diamond chandelier earrings.

The Princess joined other members of the Royal Family, including King Charles, Queen Camilla and Prince William, to celebrate the role of the Firm in UK diplomacy by inviting 500 members of the Diplomatic Corps for a drinks reception in the Palace’s State Rooms.

The event tonight will also mark the first time Charles and Camilla will have been able to speak to William and Kate about the Endgame situation, but sources have told the Daily Mail that the family will be in “no rush” to make their “carefully considered” decision.

The family have stood firm and united this week following reported ‘crisis talks’ over revelations made in an error in the publication of the Dutch translation of Omid Scobie’s latest royal book Endgame.

The version of the book published in the Netherlands featured the names of two family members accused of making comments about Prince Archie’s skin colour before he was born, which the Daily Express has made the decision not to publish.

All copies have now been pulled from sale, and new editions will be available to purchase in Dutch without the names on Friday, with Express.co.uk taking the decision not to identify those involved.

It has been a day full of engagements for the royals, as Kate attended the official opening of Evelina’s London new children’s day surgery unit.

As patron of Evelina London, Kate was shown around the new facilities, which will enable the children’s hospital to provide up to 2,300 additional patients each year with all the care and support they need in one place.

The Princess also got the chance to meet with several young patients and their families, getting to spend time with the children as they created some artwork.

The Princess of Wales continued her current love affair with the power suit as she rocked a blue two-piece by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, one of her go-to designers.

Body language expert Judi James described Kate’s behaviour during the outing as genuine, as she appeared to be fully engrossed in the task at hand in spite of a difficult few days for the royals.

She told Express.co.uk: “Kate quite simply focuses on the people she is meeting here, especially the children, and allows her body language to be dictated by them.

“She is fully immersive with the small children, using eye contact, animated gesticulation and a contagious smile that looks prompted by them and which is delivered for them exclusively.

“Children can spot a phoney a mile off and here they look genuinely engrossed in the conversation Kate is prompting with them.

“This is not a grinning performance of overkill signals of resilience and ‘carefree, relaxed happiness’ that has been created specifically for the cameras but it is just Kate doing her job and putting the people she is visiting look and feel like the most important factor in her life right now.”

The Princess will be in the spotlight once again this Friday, December 8, as she prepares to host her annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey.
