Princess Kate and Prince William returned to royal duty after spending the summer holidays with their three children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven. While the Prince and Princess of Wales tend to keep their children’s lives as private as possible, they do sometimes make sweet revelations about their family, much to the delight of royal fans.
This was the case this week when Kate and William, both 43, stepped out together on Thursday at the Natural History Museum for their first royal engagement of the autumn. After spending time at the museum, the future King and Queen spent time talking to members of the public who had gathered outside. One of the conversations was all about the royal children, resulting in Kate revealing a surprising fact about her oldest son, George.
The princess was heard telling a well-wisher: “They (the children) are getting big now! George is already in my shoes.”
This comment suggested that George is now the same shoe size as Kate, and may even be sharing some of her unisex footwear.
While unconfirmed what shoe size Kate wears, Hello! reported that she is believed to be either a 5.5 or a 6 in British sizing based on photographs of her shoes before.
Princess Kate did not comment on what size shoe she or George wears.
Over the last year, royal fans have been quick to comment on how tall Prince George is, with the young royal having been seen a handful of times on the royal stage this year. This included the Trooping the Colour celebrations, the poignant VE day anniversary, and at Wimbledon.
After seeing photographs of the prince at Wimbledon just months ago, one fan wrote on X: “Wow, how tall Prince George has grown, top of his head is as tall as top of his father’s shoulders. Wondering how tall George will become in future?”
Another fan wrote: “Can’t believe how tall Prince George is already!”
Someone else said: “Another year and Prince George will be as tall as his mother.”
