Princess Kate has stepped out for her fourth public engagement of the year at tonight’s Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Princess of Wales, 42, is attending the annual event, hosted by Adrian Lester, alongside her husband, the King and other senior members of the Royal Family.

Kate wore a beautiful black coat dress with statement buttons, black tights and heeled pumps. She accessorised the look with a matching pearl drop necklace and earrings.

Her stunning brunette locks are curled and pushed to the right-hand side of her face, which features a bold smoky-eye.

It marks Kate’s fourth public appearance of the year, having attended Trooping the Colour, Wimbledon and a community engagement in Southport last month.

In the presence of the senior royals, personal testimonies, storytelling and wonderful music performances express the nation’s gratitude to serving personnel, veterans and their families.

Music artists include Sir Tom Jones, Jack Savoretti, Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha, Samantha Barks, Alexandra Burke and Jake Isaac. The Central Band of the Royal Air Force and the Bands of HM Royal Marines will also do displays of military music.

This year’s Festival of Remembrance will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer today (November 9) at 9pm.

Princess Kate will attend this weekend’s event, along with the national commemoration at the Cenotaph on Sunday.

It will be the first time she has carried out two consecutive days of public official engagements since the start of the year.

Every year, the Royal British Legion’s festival honours the service of the British and Commonwealth Armed Forces community and the sacrifices made by them.

But the Queen did not attend tonight’s event, as she continues to recover from a chest infection. She will also miss tomorrow’s Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph.

William revealed earlier in the week that this year has been his toughest yet. He said: “Honestly, it’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year in my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.

“But I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done. But from a personal family point of view, it’s been, yeah, it’s been brutal.”
