Princess Kate issued an apology to some of her fans last week for one reason as she stepped out on a solo engagement. Last Thursday, The Princess of Wales, 43, was all smiles as she spent time at RAF Coningsby.
The visit, which marked the royal’s first visit to the Lincolnshire base since being appointed Royal Honorary Air Commodore in 2023, was jam-packed. However, despite being very busy, the princess, as always, made time to speak to members of the public.
On this occasion, those who met the princess were military families connected to the RAF base.
This included mothers and their young children, with the princess spending plenty of time talking to the youngsters who dressed for the occasion.
Crouching down to their level, Kate apologised to the young girls for not wearing her dress to match theirs.
She could be heard saying: “Where is my dress? If I had known… I’m sorry I didn’t wear my dress today. Thank you for coming to see me.”
Instead of wearing a dress, Prince William’s wife wore a tailored plaid suit by British designer Bella Freud.
This was the same look she wore just three weeks ago.
The princess seemed to thoroughly enjoy her visit and shared how much her three children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, would have loved to be there.
Speaking to those who live and work at the base, Kate revealed that her children love aviation and were upset to not be able to make the visit with her.
She revealed: “They will be very upset that I’ve seen a Typhoon without them!”
