Princess Kate ‘difficult to get hold of’ as Gary Goldsmith makes blunt admission on ITV

The Princess Of Wales’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, entered the Celebrity Big Brother house this week and has already made candid admissions about his niece, Princess Kate.

He bluntly confessed on the ITV show that Princess Kate has been busy rightfully “putting family first”.

In scenes that are due to air on ITV tonight, the brother of Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton said: “It’s difficult to get hold of Kate at the best of times, and she’s got children and I love the fact she’s putting family first.”

The 58-year-old businessman has also claimed the Prince and Princess of Wales will be “the saviour of the royal family”.

The return of Celebrity Big Brother on Monday, March 4 saw 2.8 million viewers tune in to watch Gary Goldsmith enter the house and chat with hosts AJ Adodu and Will Best.

Gary’s light-hearted chat with the hosts before entering won the humour of keen viewers. Presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best asked if “Kate will be watching?” to which Gary Goldsmith, 58, replied, “If she is, it’ll be behind the sofa, I guess!”.

Following on from the admission, the hosts probed again: “Which sofa though?”

The businessman retorted: “It’ll be a nice one in a nice house. I can guarantee that.”

The Princess of Wales’s uncle has also spoken about the unusual nickname given to him by the Middleton family. He has revealed: “They call me the buncle! Have you heard of a buncle? Bad uncle, apparently every family has them.”

Goldsmith introduced himself on the show as the “uncle to the future queen of our country”, and said his niece was “simply perfect”.

In Monday’s launch episode, Walsh and Osbourne were tasked with watching their fellow contestants and rating them. The pair nominated three housemates to be “in danger” of facing a public vote, based on first impressions.

They chose Princess Kate’s uncle Gary, David Potts, and Zeze Millz – and when asked for their reasoning, Louis replied: “We didn’t like them”.

Celebrity Big Brother continues at 9pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
