Princess Kate is allegedly considering meeting with Prince Harry to mend a rift he has with Prince William, sources claim.
The princess hopes to use any potential visit to the US as an opportunity to kickstart dialogue between the two feuding siblings.
According to a source, who spoke to Closer, Kate “sees it as a rare chance to meet up with Harry and feels like it would be a great step towards making peace.”
Some have claimed the Princess of Wales has been pushing for a reunion between William and Harry, who reportedly avoided each other at the funeral of their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, in August.
The source also said Kate has made reconciling the brothers’ relationship a key priority for the year ahead. They said: “One of Kate’s top goals for 2025 is to find a way to mend fences between William and Harry so that is front and centre on her mind whenever there’s talk about going to America.”
It comes as Princess Kate and Prince William brushed aside claims they are trying to compete with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry following news the royal couple will be visiting the US more often.
According to accounts published by the Charity Commission, Prince William and Princess Kate raised a large sum from US donors in August. The following month, the couple relaunched plans for The Royal Foundation in the US.
According to The Mail, Kate and William registered the foundation’s brand with the American trademark authorities. It follows Prince William indicating late last year that he and Kate would take up more international engagements.
At the time, he said: “Hopefully Catherine will be doing a bit more next year, so we’ll have some more trips maybe lined up”.
According to insiders, the details of the Royal Foundation’s American expansion remain confidential. A source claimed, “The details are hush-hush, but, by all accounts, it’s something they’re working on pretty intensely.”
They stressed that the move is not intended to compete with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who live and work in the US. They added: “Expanding the Royal Family’s charitable work on a more global scale, and into America, has long been talked about. This isn’t coming out of nowhere.”
The rift between Prince William and Prince Harry has been well-publicised in recent years. It deepened when Harry and Meghan sat down with Oprah Winfrey for an interview in 2021 in which they claimed the Palace failed to adequately respond to Meghan’s mental health.
The tensions increased when Prince Harry published his memoir ‘Spare’ in 2023, which went into some detail about alleged disagreements between the couples.
