Princess Kate and Meghan Markle have one nearly identical habit as part of 'daily ritual'

The Princess of Wales and Meghan Markle may unknowingly share a similarity in what they eat as part of their daily rituals. Princess Kate enjoys a variety of healthy, yet delicious, meals when it comes to her diet – with one key staple also loved by her sister-in-law.

The mother-of-three is said to be a huge fan of green smoothies for breakfast – with Meghan often opting for the same.

According to the MailOnline, Princess Kate blends a combination of kale, spirulina, matcha, spinach, romaine, coriander leaves and blueberries together to make a tasty smoothie.

Meghan, also a fan of a smoothie, appears to have. a slightly different recipe that she loves to stick to.

During an interview in 2015 – prior to meeting Prince Harry and joining the Royal Family – the mother-of-two told TODAY that she opts for a smoothie to save her “rushing for a coffee when you hit that 4pm slump”.

She said: “…But if I blend some apple, kale, spinach, lemon, and ginger in my Vitamix in the morning and bring it to work, I always find that sipping on that is a much better boost than a cup of espresso.”

For Princess Kate, the addition of a smoothie is likely a key contributor to her glowing skin and slim figure. Former royal nutritionist Jennifer Hanway previously spoke about the benefits of Kate’s green smoothie.

She said: “Kate [reportedly] has a ton of antioxidants in there, a ton of vitamins and minerals, and a ton of fibre – which make for a powerhouse of overall health.

“Everything from the kale to the leafy greens is a really great source of nutrients.

“This smoothie is absolutely packed full of antioxidants that fight free-radical damage, which are the environmental toxins that steal our natural glow.”

Meghan previously shared her dietary tips on her now-closed lifestyle blog, The Tig. Writing in Finding Freedom in 2020, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand also wrote about Meghan’s diet.

They wrote: “Her morning ritual started with a cup of hot water and a slice of lemon, followed by her favourite breakfast of steel-cut oats (usually made with almond or soy milk) with bananas and agave syrup for sweetness.”

Meghan also previously revealed that she likes to “eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends.”
