Princess Beatrice steps in for cause close to Kate Middleton's heart

Princess Beatrice has been supporting a cause dear to Kate Middleton’s heart while she recovers from surgery.

The mum-of-one joined a panel to discuss the issue of loneliness and the mental health of students, particularly those who learn differently.

The London event was organised by Big Change, a charity co-founded by Beatrice, and Chegg, a Silicon Valley company, along with charities Student Minds and the Mental Health Foundation.

Beatrice, who was diagnosed with dyslexia at age seven, shared her personal experiences and emphasised the need to consider each student’s unique needs when addressing their mental health.

The panel discussed what lessons universities have learned about mental health from Covid lockdowns, current examples of universities effectively supporting student mental health, and how universities can engage with students to raise awareness.

Beatrice stated: “Embracing neurodiversity is not just a commitment to inclusivity, but a catalyst for innovation and progress. Today’s roundtable highlighted the importance of standing united in our pursuit to cultivate an environment where every student, regardless of their neurological makeup, can thrive in their studies and beyond.”

Kate Middleton is known for her dedication to the mental health of students and young people. In November, she visited Nottingham Trent University to discuss the significance of mental health awareness among youngsters, reports The Mirror Online.

Currently, Kate is taking a break from Royal duties until after Easter and is resting at home in Windsor following abdominal surgery in January. Earlier this week, an update was shared on her health after Prince William withdrew from a Royal event due to a ‘personal matter’.

Prince William was scheduled to attend a memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece, his godfather, at Windsor Castle on Tuesday but chose not to. However, a Royal insider clarified that William’s absence was not related to the Princess of Wales.

The source confirmed: “The Princess of Wales continues to be doing well.”
