Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice are set to land a “whopping windfall” of £5milllion from a late royal when they hit 40, it has been claimed. In a new documentary investigating royal wealth, Channel 5 filmmakers ranked the 10 richest members by their reported net worth, starting with Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, and ending with King Charles.
It’s important to note that some positions were filled by more than one person, for example, Eugenie and Beatrice, who secured eighth place in ‘The Royal Rich List 2025: Who’s Worth the Most?’. Despite landing the HRH title, the sisters, unlike their cousins, Prince William and Prince Harry, weren’t offered roles as working royals, meaning they needed to forge their own paths. Once they graduated, they both secured jobs: Beatrice at Sony Pictures (Beatrice later worked as vice president of strategy at Afiniti) and Eugenie at an art auctioneer, earning traditional salaries.
Beatrice’s salary at Afiniti was reportedly £150,000 to £200,000 per year. Meanwhile, Eugenie secured a position at an art gallery, Hauser & Wirth, with a reported salary that exceeds £100,000.
Yet, in the programme, the narrator claimed that the true source of the sisters’ wealth is through a series of reported “windfalls” from the Firm, the first of which arose due to their parents’ divorce in 1996.
Charlotte Griffiths, the editor at large for the Mail on Sunday, said: “Beatrice and Eugenie, like many of their friends, have a trust fund, but theirs actually came through tragedy, really, because it’s when their parents divorced. The Queen gave them a £1.4million trust fund.”
Ann Widdecombe, a former Home Office minister, assumes this figure has grown if it has been a “properly managed” trust fund and that it likely accounts for a “very large part” of their wealth.
The narrator said: “And in just a few years, on their 40th birthdays, the sisters are alleged to receive another whopping windfall, a reported share of a £5milllion inheritance from their great-grandmother, the Queen Mother.”
Charlotte explained that this had been sitting in a fund and had accumulated via interest, so Beatrice and Eugenie are set to land what she described as a “good stipend” when they come of age.
Summing up, the narrator noted that Beatrice and Eugenie reportedly have an individual approximate net worth of £3.5million.
In other news, reports emerged earlier this year that King Charles is allegedly keeping the sisters “on ice”, and their ultimate fate within the Firm will be left up to William.
Ingrid Seward, a royal author and editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, claimed that they could prove to be “valuable assets” for the future King once he ascends.
Speaking to Hello!, she said: “I think they would be open to doing more because they like to give back. They have always been close to William, and the King is very fond of them too.
“Having slimmed down the monarchy, I don’t think he will change his mind, so I think he will leave it to William to bring them into the fold. I think they’re being kept on ice.”
